Tips on saving money

Hey guys I made a youtube video on my tips for saving money. I thought I would make a Youtube video to show my personality more. This is my first Youtube video on my channel, and mostly I'm going to be using Youtube for videos to put here on my blog. So occasionally I will have a new Youtube video.

January favorites

Hello! I thought I would start saying my favorite things of each month at the end of each month. I have watched many of these monthly favorites on Youtube and I thought I would encourporate it into my blog.
1)My camera
I love taking photographs on this camera. Grandma gave this camera to me for Christmas and I'm very thankful to take such lovely, high quality photos. I've been using it multiple times a day and it's just spectacular.
2)Snowfall
It snowed this month and we had two days off from school along with the weekend. It was fun to play in the snow and to get beautiful photos. I went on a few walks on the green way and everything just looked so gorgeous. Afterall it's not winter without the snow!
3)This perfume
It makes you smell so sophisticated and it's a romantic scent. I use this perfume everyday for school and sometimes on the weekend.
4)This photo
I love how the street looks in the early morning with the glow of the streetlights and light rain. It's just so beautiful and I love driving around when it's dark outside because everything is lit up. If you follow me on Instagram you would know how much I love taking photos. I post everyday. I consider my instagram, my artwork. So this was my favorite photo I've taken of this month.

The negative impact of advertisements

How many advertisements do you think you watch each week?
Stop and think about it, once you have your answer you can continue reading.

The average person watches over five hundred advertisements each week.
Now just think about how much time you wasted. Think about what better things you could be doing with your time. Five hundred advertisements each week seems just a bit excessive.

Your time is valuable, use it in a enriching way.

People that own companies benefit from advertisements because It helps them sell their merchandise easier and brings business towards their company. But for the viewers of all this advertising, it's bad. We get bombarded so frequently and we don't even realize it. Advertisements convince us to spend our money on stuff that we do not need or that may be unhealthy for us. For example, a big mac from McDonald's, or a clothing commercial. We get so convinced to spend our money from all these advertisements.

But I think you should spend your money and time on better activities that will enrich you. Like a nice conversation, working out, reading, writing, sleeping,(yes sleeping), going on a walk, etc. You save much more time and money. Now you may be thinking "I may watch the advertisements but not buy the products that the company is advertising, so I don't waste money". Time is money. Your wasting your time watching them, so therefore you are wasting your money too.

I don't watch TV, but I do watch YouTube. YouTube has a four or five second advertisement and then you can skip. So I'm wasting my time and money when I watch YouTube but the videos I'm watching are very entertaining and most of the time I can learn something from the videos I watch, so it's worth the four seconds.

Overall advertisements could be good or bad.  It just depends on the situation. What is your opinion on advertisements? Did I change your viewpoint on advertisements? Advertisements may be a big or small part of our lives, but it's always good to know the meaning behind advertisements.

Expressing yourself

Expressing yourself is very important if you want people to know you and if you want to make a impact on the world. Making an impact on the world is one of those things that everyone desires to do. You can do that by expressing yourself. You see how I bolded the words "You can", that is because you can do anything as long as you put effort into it. Do I want to make an impact? Do I want the world to know who I am? Do I want to be a strong individual person? Ask yourself those questions. If the answer is yes, keep reading.

You can express yourself in many ways.
*Appearance
*Personality
*Media
*Attitude
*Hobbies
*Creative outlet
*Your words

I think people should put themselves out there more. Don't put on a show for people, just be yourself. You want people to know the real you right? There is times when you have to impress people, but you can still be yourself during those times. For example a special occasion or a job interview. You just have to act more professional and change your attitude.

  Expressing yourself has many benefits.
*You will feel happier
*Expand your time
*Freedom
*You're confident and stronger
*Enhanced relationships
*Live with integrity
*Inspire others
*Feel more lightweight

Do you want those benefits?

Just put yourself out there and be yourself, it goes a long way.

Room tour

This is my dresser. I store clothing, hair styling stuff, accessories, and beauty supplies in here. I love the big mirror and the way I decorated it.
This is a closeup of the items on top of my dresser. I have a few perfumes and a glass bottle with fake flowers inside.
This is my bookshelf. I don't store many books here because I don't read much. So I mostly just use this to display items that I think are delicate and pretty. You see that pink teacup, it's crazy to believe that was from the nineteen fifties.
This is my nightstand. I store electronics and everyday stuff in here. I like having this nightstand next to my bed so I can easily access lotion.
This is a closeup of my nightstand. I decorated it with a cacti and a birdcage. I adore birdcages by the way, I have always just found them so interesting and unique. I don't have a bird, but it's just cool to look at.
This is my bed, my favorite place in my room. I sleep a lot so this is also where I spend a lot of my time. I enjoy having the window right next to me too, I love looking outside the window, I have such a beautiful view. I'm very thankful for my bed.
This is my desk. I go on my laptop here and I also sometimes do homework here. I like playing with the chair, like bouncing my feet off the wall.
One thing I enjoy to look at is this artwork of a fluffy, white dog and a stylish lady. This is absolutely adorable.

My favorites of 2015

1)Lipstick.
I love red lipstick and I wear it all the time. This will probably be my favorite for a while.
the lipstick I use is here (In pomegranate)
2)Kalel.
She is one of my favorite youtubers and I have been watching her for over a year. She has the best personality, she's inspiring, and best of all, she's super funny. She is vegan and my god, she eats the most delicious food. You guys need to watch her food videos!
You can watch her here
3)Sunsets.
I love to watch sunsets, it's something I always look forward to everyday. They are so beautiful and the colors are radiating. The sunsets are one of the most prettiest things in nature, in my opinion. I advise you to watch the sunset.
4) My clothing.
I love the clothes I wear and my style. Every aspect of it. That is what makes me who I am.
5)This water bottle.
This water bottle I take to school everyday and I just love it. Whenever I need water it's always there. The lid has a twist thing that closes and opens, so after you drink some you can just close it so it does not spill.
6)My laptop.
This is my favorite thing. I do all my blogging from here and I love browsing photos on here. It's also good for schoolwork too!

How minimalism has impacted my life

Minimalism has changed my whole outlook on life in a positive way. I noticed that I feel a lot happier, lightweight, and stress free. My room looks a lot more visually appealing and everything is very convenient to find. When Snookie escapes the house and runs down the street, I don't get mad, I just laugh at her running. Just a month and a half ago I would get mad at small things like that. When I go out shopping, I notice that I ask myself if I really need it. I'm getting to be a smarter shopper and I've been saving money. I used to just buy things because I felt like I had to spend my money. But it's completely my choice. I don't have to do anything if I don't want to do it.

Finding out about minimalism has made me realize that less is more.

I'm not against having materialistic items and consumerism. I love going shopping, but I don't buy much, only the stuff I need or will use on the regular. You can treat yourself to items, but just don't let it get out of control.

I find myself questioning why people hold onto certain things that they truly don't need. People will hold onto things because they are sentimental or because they might need it "just in case". But most of the time you won't ever need it "just in case". Sentimental items can be hard to get rid of because of the emotional attachment. But for those sentimental items, allow yourself a box to put the most important sentimental items into and the rest donote, sell, give to a friend, etc.

Every time I go through my stuff, I feel lighter and a sense of freedom. I ask myself, Did I use this recently? Why am I keeping this? Will I wear this? These questions have helped me get rid of the excess. I don't overthink it, I just ask these simple questions.

So overall minimalism has made me happier, saved me money, reduced the stress, and made my life easier.
