January Favorites

1)Taking baths
I've been loving baths this month, they are so great when you are cold, and you can just warm up in the bath. I love to use lush products in the bath, even though they are a little bit expensive. I enjoy the bubble bars, and bath bombs a lot. It's just so nice to relax in a hot bubble bath. I actually got "hot bath nausea" one time because the water was so hot. So if you're going to take a bath make sure you don't turn the water too hot.

2)Twisted Peppermint Lotion
I've been using this lotion like crazy and it smells so good! Auntie Marilyn got this for me for Christmas and I love it so much. It's a  really good winter smell.

3)Cuddling my Nugget
This is always a favorite but it seems like during the colder months it's more of a favorite. My puppy is just so warm and cozy and I love her so much. She also gets away with everything because she's so cute! I just wanted to put this in here because there can never be enough nugget appreciation.

4)Trying to figure out my life
I don't know if this is really a favorite but I thought I would include it. It seems like this month I have really been trying to figure out aspects of my life. This month I have started doing college research, and I have been getting myself prepared for applying for a job. I have been working on gathering references and just making sure I have everything together. It's been stressing me out but I think it's worth the stress. By the way, I'm looking for a job at Arby's, but I haven't applied yet because I still need to get my references. And I broke my phone this month while rollerskating, and it just made me realize that I shouldn't hand people my phone because they will drop it. And to just be careful with my devices. So I feel like this is just the month of all that.

5)Snow!
The snow was awesome this month, and I loved going sledding. I already made an entire post about the snow so let's no go into too much detail. But basically I cozied up inside, went sledding, took some photos, and that's about it.

A minimalistic aproach to buying things

So as you guys know I'm a minimalist. Or you may not know. But anyways today I'm going to be talking about a minimalist approach to buying things. So let's refresh on minimalism real quick. Minimalism is living a more rich life with less. It's having time to focus on the important things. You can focus on the important things by getting rid of the stuff/relationships that don't give you joy or that you don't use.

Understanding what you need and what you don't need
A lot of people make the excuse that they "need" something when it's actually just a want, and they will buy it. It's okay to want things, everyone wants things. But we have to be able to distinguish wants vs needs. This will help you make better decisions when it comes to how you spend your money. We all know pretty much what we need and don't need so when it comes to buying things focus on only the things that you need. But if you find something else it's okay to treat yourself if you haven't treated yourself in a while. But don't start using treating yourself as an excuse, because there is a difference between treating yourself too much and treating yourself just the right amount.

What to think about when you do treat yourself
When treating yourself think about these two things. Will you use it, and will it bring you joy? If it does then it's good to go through with buying it. But if not then rethink your decision. But let's say for example if you think it will only bring part-time joy then rethink your decision too. By eliminating the things that don't bring us joy or the things we don't use, it will bring us freedom. Freedom isn't easy for those who love to splurge, but if you change your mindset then freedom will come easier. Spending less money=Freedom, now do you want freedom?

Quality over quantity
When you do have to buy something new, think quality over quantity. You want what you buy to last a while, right? Paying extra for a nice quality item that you know is going to last years is well worth your money. Now I'm going to tell the wallet story about why you should buy quality over quantity. So I got this wallet from Target and it lasted about half a year and then the coin purse zippy part of it broke on me, and I lost all my coins that I had in there, I was mad. But I understood why it broke because it was a cheap wallet. Then for Christmas 2016, I decided to get a Kate Spade wallet and I knew that this wallet would last me years because it's made from leather and it's designer. And I've been using it ever since Christmas and it's still not broken in yet. It's great! So sometimes it's better to go for quality over quantity.

First snow of 2017

It snowed and we had no school for three days! So you know what I did, I went sledding and sat around and did nothing. On here I just wanted to share the photos that I took when I was enjoying the snow.

The greenway near my house looked really pretty with all the snow.

I don't know what pose I'm making in this photo but I guess I'll call it the snowman pose.

And of course, I had to do a closeup of a pine tree, just for photography purposes.

I loved cozying up in my socks.

I really like this photo, I feel like this mini mountain screams "climb me".

And this is the mast photo of me, all the rest are landscape photos.

I really like this photo too because it has depth.

Then this last one is of the pond, it looks foggy.

Sharing some poems that I wrote

I'm so sorry for slacking on my posting. I have been lazy. But I promise I will get back to my regular posting schedule(every Friday). So now I wanted to share some poems, because the last time I shared things that I wrote it mostly stories, so now I'm changing it up. Also look at how cute my dog looks in the image above.

A Hue of Blue

A little who
In the little who town hollered a coo
hollering that the snooper is blue
The snooper oh he was a hue

He was a hue of blue
he was an ew
Because he scared everyone in the town of who’s
every year he cried boo

He cried about his stew
And it really upset the who’s
But who would stop him from hollering about his stew
Because he sure is a hue of blue

Maybe the rooper would stop the coo’s
Maybe the rooper would take the snooper to the zoo
And that’s what he did he that snooper to the slew
Oh it sure was a slew but that’s what he gets for being a hue
A hue of blue

Inky, Blue paradise

Have you ever loved someone for real?
The real kind of love?

The kind of love that keeps you thinking
The kind of love that leaves your heart aching
The kind of love that makes you go insane
The kind of love when you feel like you’re a million feet underwater
Grasping for air but still being able to breathe

I know how real love feels like
And the problem is that I only love you

As soon as I saw you I tripped and fell instantly
I fell deep into a dark, inky blue paradise
The more I fell, the more I lost my mind
And once I hit the bottom
I was completely crazy

I stayed at the bottom for a while
I was mad in love and barely knew what was real or not
But I sure knew my love for you was real

Slowly, as time went by, I started to regain my sanity
And I started hearing less voices
I was slowly floating back to the surface
I was unsure of why I was floating back
It happened as unexpectedly as me falling deep

It’s been a long journey but I think I have reached the surface
I can see the golden sunlight again and breathe in the fresh air
I have almost gained all of my sanity back
Whether I’m sane or not, I’ll keep loving you

You Are Outer Space

You are outer space.
Your skin is made of stardust and your eyes as vast as a wormhole
Both glitter Like shooting stars
moments before they disappear beyond the horizon

Your smile
Explodes like a supernova
Unforeseen but all at once
Spreading out everywhere and filling everywhere with its beauty

You are unknown.
Almost all of you is not known
Not even the greatest explorer could reach you
Because you are from out of this world

Your hands are constellations
Made up of many lines and imperfections
I wish I could trace all the lines that make up your constellation
And hold your hand in mine pleasantly and tightly

You are outer space.
You are unexplored
You are gargantuan
You are prepossessing
