September favorites

1)Decorating for fall
Since fall has officially started I have my decorations out. Man let me tell you guys fall is my favorite season and my room just screams fall right now. Decorating for fall puts me in the cozy fall mood and it makes me really relaxed.

2)Snuggling with sea lion
I always cuddle my puppy a lot but this month I've noticed that I've been cuddling my puppy more than usual. I think it's because she is really warm and it's finally getting cold outside so I'm cuddling her more. I mean I don't know but I gotta include sea lion in my September favorites, even through she is always my favorite.

3)Coffee
Let me tell you guys have I discovered the amazing taste of coffee this month, specifically iced coffee. I drink coffee only on weekends because I don't have enough time during the weekdays before school to make coffee. This is totally my number one essential when it comes to weekend mornings.

4)Creative writing class
Man I never thought I would mention school in my blog before but here we go. So I'm taking a creative writing class this semester and it is really fun and chill. It is my favorite class because it's just relaxing and does not even feel like an actual class. Everyday at school I look forward to that class, also it's at the end of the day, which I think is the perfect time for that class. I have discovered that I really like writing short stories and poems. Maybe in a future post I should share a short story or something, I think that would be pretty cool.

The real purpose of minimalism

I have noticed that some people think minimalism has to do with the stuff we have. That that is the only thing that minimalism has to with. This is partially true but not completely because minimalism is what you get out of living your life with less, stuff is also just an element of minimalism. How might your life be better with less? Just ask yourself that and see where that question takes you. Honestly there is a ton of benefits to minimalism. These are the benefits that are also listed in my first post about minimalism.
*It eliminates our disconnect
 *Have more time
*live in the moment
*More freedom
*Your space looks more appealing
*Pursue your passions
*More confidence
*Easier to clean your place
*You're happier
*Grow as individuals
*Spend less money
*Less greedy
*Focus on our health
*Contribute beyond ourselves
*Set an example
*Not tied to the past
*Find things easier
*Less stress
*Discover the purpose in our lives

Minimalism is a tool that you can use to focus on the important things. By making deliberate decisions, you can focus on the important things in life. What are the important things in your life?

Once you figure out whats important you can use minimalism as a tool to help you focus on the important things more. You can start small or just go big. For example you can start eliminating the stuff that does not bring you joy, and the stuff that you don't use. We are a consumer driven society so simply donating the stuff that you don't get value from will give joy to another person's life, and help you focus on the important things instead of status, and how much you got. Since minimalism is not just about stuff, try to minimize the bad areas in your life, and try to improve yourself. You get the point it's all about living a more meaningful life with less. But if you want to live a more meaningful life, you have to take action right now.

It seems like every new years people will say, "I'm going to workout more this year". But 90% of the time they will stop working out within a couple of weeks. The truth is that if you want to accomplish something you have to start working on it right away and stop making excuses to not do it. If you want to be a minimalist, you have to start now. If you want to live life with meaning and passion, start now. Minimalism is just a tool, and it's a great tool. You can use it how you would like to.

The true purpose of minimalism is living with more meaning and not being distracted by all the stuff in our lives. By living with less we can focus on all the important things. Truly less is more.

Tips to help get through an artist block

Artist blocks suck! Let me tell you I've been having an artist block for a month and I just lost all inspiration to paint. But I found some things that help spark that creativity again.

Picking up that brush again even through your not feeling it
No matter how much you don't want to paint just force yourself to pick up that paintbrush. I painted on the back of my sketchbook a week ago and when I did I was like "wow let's force myself to paint more often". I was not feeling inspired at all but I did it anyway. I feel like the more you push yourself, the more you can breakthrough. This pretty much goes for anything, not just painting.

Sketch
If you can't think of an idea just start drawing whatever comes to mind and by the end of your drawing session you are likely to have an idea. This is usually what I do when I don't have an idea or I look back at my old sketches and that usually inspires me.

Look at photos/Take photos
Sometimes just looking at photos of random things can inspire us. Photos truly do spark ideas and memories. I do this all the time, and usually once I'm done looking back at the photos I have ideas on what to paint. You know another thing that works is going out and taking reference photos for paintings and it kinda sparks your creativity again.

Look at other people's artwork
Looking at other people's artwork can help spark your creativity and get you inspired to paint again. The thing about looking at other people's art is that you sometimes compare it to yours and you critique their work. This can help you get a good grasp of what they did and it maybe also might inspire you to use certain elements of their work in your own work.

Know that it is okay to have an artist block, it happens to all artists
Having an artist block does not make you any less of a painter it just means you're losing ideas or the passion. Our minds can't always be exploding with creativity, we all have our ups and downs, that is just being human. As long as you believe your going to paint again then you will.

Inexpensive ways to spice up your space

Using flowers
Flowers brighten up a space very easily because they are so colorful. We have sunflowers in the middle of our kitchen table. The sunflowers are the focal point of the table. The only problem with flowers is that they eventually die. But that was also why fake flowers were invented.

Change the furniture around
Changing around your furniture creates a whole new look for free. Now you may be thinking "this is going to be a pain in the ass". But really it's not, all you need is someone to assist you, or if your furniture is light enough you can move it on your own. I do this all the time, for example I moved a table out of my closet a couple weeks ago because I wanted to start storing my shoes at the top of the closest instead of on the table. Let me tell you my closest looks ten times better without that table.

Create your own artwork
You can create your own artwork by simply buying a canvas, creating a design on that canvas, and hanging it on your wall. This really changes up your wall space and it's a way to be creative. This idea is also fun because you can create your own work of art. I wonder if any of the people reading this have seen those really modern decor pieces that go for two hundred dolllers and it's literally just splattered paint. Maybe? But anyways why would you want to pay that price for modern art when you can create your own for ten times less.

Clean your room!
I know this one sounds stupid but cleaning your room creates a fresh look and it makes you feel productive since you cleaned. One thing that I like to do to clean is remove all the stuff on the tabletops and put it somewhere else that way it eliminates the clutter.
